I am currently attending Rutgers University and am majoring in Political
Science, while minoring in Spanish. After I complete my undergrad education,
I hope to continue on to Law School to study the various areas of Sports and Entertainment Law. In the interim, I am focusing on interning with a sports team or league in order to gain more experience in the aforementioned area.
I've been a big sports fan my entire life, playing baseball, soccer, and
volleyball, and follow the New York Mets avidly. Thanks to my mother,
aunt, and grandfather, I inherited their love of the Amazin's. I attended
my first Mets game when I was eight years old and watched as they lost
to the LA Dodgers 9-7, however, my next games were a part of the doubleheader
against the Brewers, both of which they won. So is the life of a New York
Mets fan.
My favorite player is David Wright, of course, with this year's best kept
secret, Ryan Church, coming in at a VERY close second. Although, my favorite
Met of all-time is Mike Piazza for bringing the spirit back into the once-floundering
NY Mets of the 1990's. Still, I was very partial to "Super" Joe McEwing for the duration of his career with New York.
This year, I've gone to more games in a season than I previously had my
entire life, which is most likely due to the fact I've discovered StubHub.
If you go to a game I am attending, chances are you'll see one of my K's
somewhere around the ballpark. How will you know it's me? Inside of the
K is a collage of the starting pitcher. That's my signature at Shea. So
far, this season, I've used Santana K's, Maine K's, and Pelfrey K's.
My favorite Mets game I've seen this season (2008) is probably the game against
the Braves on May 19th. While they were destroyed that game, I ventured
to Parsippany, New Jersey in order to attend the Mets at the Movies event
and had a blast. Well, despite the fact I flipped over a chair trying
to catch a tee-shirt launched by the Pepsi Party Patrol (I didn't know
it reclined!) and had a bruise on my ribs for two weeks.
For the remainder of this season, I had a few goals in mind. I wanted to have a better than .500 record of games I've attended, finally get
the David Wright autograph I've been seeking all season long at Shea,
and watch my Mets pull off an amazing turnaround.
I finally managed to get the autograph on the last batting practice I could attend all year... and for the first and only time, was by myself for BP. As far as the turnaround, I'm still convinced that it happened. We were so far under .500... and Jerry helped us bounce back.
And regardless of the fact that we missed the playoffs.. it truly was an AMAZIN' season.
