• David was drafted as the 38th pick of the New York Mets in the

• As a condition to the Mets hiring Lou Pinella to replace the recently-fired
Bobby Valentine, the Mariners wanted David in return. The Mets refused
and took Art Howe instead.
• As part of a team hazing ritual of the rookies, David was once
